Each Yoga In Daily Life class consists of Relaxation techniques, Asanas, Pranayama and Self-Inquiry Meditation techniques
Asanas
Asanas are the physical movements and postures performed in a Yoga class. Asanas can be dynamic movements or practised slowly.
The dynamic asanas are good to increase overall fitness and to warm the joints, increase circulation and prepare the body for the more passive asanas. The passive asanas are held with the breath for a slightly longer period and practised slowly to enable mental focus and a conscious understanding of the movement.
Effects of Asanas
Pranayama
Pranayama is the conscious and deliberate control and regulation of the breath. “Prana” means breath, “ayam” means to control, to regulate. With each breath we absorb not only oxygen, but also Prana. Prana is cosmic energy, the power in the Universe that creates, preserves and changes. It is the basic element of life and consciousness. The conscious guidance of Prana in the body gives rise to an increase in vitality, physical detoxification and improved immunity, as well as the attainment of inner peace, relaxation and mental clarity.

Self-Inquiry Meditation
Self-Inquiry meditation is a fundamental aspect of the Yoga In Daily Life system. The practise of Asanas and Pranayamas are progressively developed throughout the system and in the same way, the concentration and meditation practises are also developed step by step. The technique of Self-Inquiry meditation helps us to attain Self-Knowledge through self-control and self-development. Its goal is to experience and realise the Divine Self within us. Such a supreme goal cannot be achieved overnight, but requires self-discipline, consistent practise and guidance from a spiritual Master. To acquire knowledge of the Self, it is first necessary to explore and illuminate all levels of consciousness. This includes the conscious mind, subconscious mind and unconscious mind. The content of these levels of consciousness must be fully exposed and purified. This can only occur when we do so with full awareness – through meditation.
Effects of Self-Inquiry meditation
In Self-Inquiry meditation we learn to understand ourselves and others. We learn to forgive ourselves and others. We purify our subconsciousness and gradually lose our inner inhibitions and complexes. Our thinking becomes well ordered and clear and due to this we are able to overcome and avoid many difficulties in life. In the end we recognise our true essence and our goal in life and bring our inner Self to unfold.
